Of course if ones physical limits makes it impossible to notice a difference, than I understand why one may not be excited at all about these technological advances. As far as it goes, I do not think 4k or the other advances in technology are fads, but until technology furnishes my aging eyes and hearing with better advances then I can wait until I need a new tv or console before buying them. It is the same for going with a 4k tv over my 1080p, if a person cannot tell the difference then there is no need to change. With my eyes I cannot discern any difference so it really is wasted to buy the more expensive blu ray movies. I use the dvd or blu ray whichever is cheaper at the time.
